The All-New Renault Clio continues to haul in the awards, this time taking the top prize in DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine’s annual Top 50 list of the best cars on sale in the UK, where more than 200 new cars were evaluated.
The All-New Clio’s breadth of abilities across its comprehensive line-up won it praise with the judges. Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher, DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine, said: “British buyers love superminis, so it’s great to report the Clio has never been better and is the DieselCar and EcoCar favourite new car of 2020.”
Particular praise was given to the All-New Clio’s advanced interior, described as “a revelation, with an upmarket design and clever infotainment system.” All-New Clio’s 9.3-inch Easy Link infotainment system option is packed with connectivity capabilities and personalisation, housed in a portrait-oriented central touchscreen with crisp graphics. It also features the latest Apple CarPlay and Android Connectivity options delivering seamless connectivity with the driver’s smartphone.
It’s not just the interior that impressed the judges, though. The Clio’s dynamic abilities were praised, courtesy of a chassis that is “incredibly well-sorted” and capable of “serving up grin inducing grip on back roads.”
Importantly, the All-New Clio’s choice of engines contributed to its overall win, too: “They all offer a smooth drive, including the quiet 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine, which can also return up to 67.2mpg and comes with a slick six-speed manual gearbox.”
Lewis Beale, Brand Manager, Renault Cars, said of the win: “We’re absolutely delighted to celebrate another award win for the All-New Clio, in particular one that recognises the recent major step change in the vehicle’s interior style and quality. Combine that with sensible running costs, an engaging driving experience and an exterior design that made its predecessor the most popular car in its class in Europe, there are plenty of reasons for potential customers to explore further, either via our online Virtual Showroom or at their local Renault dealer.”
Alongside the frugal diesel model, All-New Clio buyers also have a choice of efficient TCe petrol engines with an EDC automatic option available too, alongside a new Hybrid powertrain boasting intelligent and advanced E-TECH technology to boost performance and economy, with the capability of travelling up to 80 per cent of urban journeys in zero-emissions electric mode. It’s available across all Clio trim levels; Play, Iconic, S Edition, R.S. Line and exclusive Launch Edition.
Buyers have a number of options available to them when purchasing the award-winning All-New Clio. Renault’s Virtual Showroom on www.renault.co.uk enables potential customers the chance to experience a personalised tour of the car in a one-to-one session from the comfort of their home.
In addition, the Online Stock Reservation Tool allows buyers the opportunity to reserve their perfect Clio model, ready to collect from their chosen retailer within a matter of weeks. All finance paperwork can be completed at home via the Remote eSign Portal, while Renault’s attractive ‘Three Months On Us’ enables buyers to get their hands on an All-New Clio with no deposit and the first three months of payments refunded as cashback.
