Renault Sport Formula One Team is happy to welcome le coq sportif as an official team kit supplier.

Le coq sportif will supply all the clothing worn by team members from next year, with the partnership lasting for three years.

Le coq sportif will also feature on the livery of next season’s Formula 1 car, the R.S.18.

Cyril Abiteboul, Renault Sport Racing Managing Director:

“I am very happy le coq sportif is joining Formula 1 with Renault Sport Formula One Team. The arrival of a new team kit supplier not only demonstrates the interest created today by Renault in Formula 1, but also the appeal that this sport represents for a brand already partnered with prestigious athletes in football, cycling, tennis and rugby. The drivers and the members of Renault Sport Formula One Team will benefit from the technical clothing expertise of this historic and emblematic sports brand. We are already working on a complete merchandising range in the team colours and collaborative projects that will allow our programs to crossover.”

Marc-Henri Beausire, le coq sportif CEO:

“We are proud of this relationship with Renault Sport Formula One Team. We are joining a team and a high-performance project that we are certain will allow us to continue to grow. “Our two brands are recognised for their expertise and the quality of their products. They have also distinguished themselves by their innovations and their commitment to both French and international sports. Today our two brands unite around a common project. It is with great pride that we will accompany the team by providing our high-quality equipment. We wish Renault Sport Formula One Team great success and we will experience each race with passion and emotion.”

LE COQ SPORTIF : THE FRENCH SPORT BRAND

Le coq sportif was founded 130 years ago, in 1882, in Romilly-sur-Seine near Troyes, France’s knitwear capital. His earliest purpose was providing high-quality sport products for teams and individual athletes. Today, 90% of our textile production comes from Troyes in France, where knitting and dyeing are made. It gives quality to our products, which is recognized by our consumers. Le coq sportif designs its shoe and clothing collections with just as much care as its products designed for professional athletes, with the same touch of French elegance. In 2010, the brand opened a development center and a production site in Romilly-sur-Seine in France.

Le coq sportif has been marked by great moments – Bernard Hinault’s five Tour de France victories, Yannick Noah’s 1983 French Open win, and Argentina’s World Cup victory in 1986, led by Diego Maradona, which followed Italy’s win in 1982 – that have forever tied the brand to sport. Today, le coq sportif is a clothing sponsor to athletes in its historic sports: the tricolour brand provides high-performance jerseys to the Tour de France leaders, and in January 2014 it launched a deal with French tennis player Richard Gasquet. In 2015, le coq sportif will also return to top level football with the French team ASSE Saint-Etienne and the Italian team ACF Fiorentina. In 2016, le coq sportif announced its come back in rugby with the Racing 92 team and has just signed contracts with a dozen of top French rugby players. 2018 will be an important year, as le coq sportif will provide the official equipment to Renault Sport Formula One Team.

Le coq sportif has four subsidiaries France, Spain / Portugal, Great Britain and Italy. The brand is available in more than 70 countries and counts 82 own stores, including 20 in France.
